Reflections of History in Water: Basilica Cistern
Located in Istanbul’s historic peninsula and considered one of the early architectural examples that have survived to the present day and one of the world’s significant cultural heritages, Basilica Cistern attracts great interest from both local and foreign tourists with its renewed appearance. The historical cistern, restored by İBB Heritage in line with contemporary museology principles, takes its visitors on a journey through time with the events it hosts in its enchanting atmosphere.
1600-Year-Old Heritage: Şerefiye Cistern
The Şerefiye Cistern, the oldest structure integrated with the world’s 360-degree projection mapping system, offers visitors an extraordinary museum experience. The cistern, which provides a mesmerizing experience where 1600 years of history meet art and technology, greets its visitors with the mapping show realized in collaboration with İBB Kültür AŞ and TUCE Investment.
A 3D Museum Experience: Panorama 1453 History Museum
On the morning of May 29, 1453, brought to life with a digital interpretation. The world’s first fully panoramic museum, Panorama 1453 History Museum, has gained an immersive museum identity with the “Dream of Sultan Mehmed” projection mapping show, realized in collaboration with İBB Kültür AŞ and TUCE Investment. Offering visitors a 3D museum experience, “Dream of Sultan Mehmed” presents a visual feast that focuses on how Mehmed II’s passion for conquering Constantinople step by step became a reality, starting from his princehood.
Where Time Stands Still: Miniatürk
Miniatürk brings together the rich architectural heritage of every civilization that ruled and left a mark on these lands, from the Ancient Age to Rome and Byzantium, from the Seljuks to the Ottomans. Additionally, it welcomes its visitors with the Istanbul Historical Peninsula model exhibition, which includes 10,000 figures scaled down to 1/87 and prepared in collaboration with İBB Kültür AŞ and ModelPort. Developed over five years in light of historical sources, the Istanbul model exhibition revives the structures, social life, and historical events that occurred 400 years ago on an area of 400,000 m².
