İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality Kültür AŞ will welcome all visitors under the age of 18 for free at Basilica Cistern, Şerefiye Cistern, Panorama 1453 History Museum, Miniaturk, and Digital Experience Museum on April 23rd, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.
Affiliated with İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality Kültür AŞ. will host visitors under the age of 18 on April 23rd at Basilica Cistern, Şerefiye Cistern, Panorama 1453 History Museum, Miniaturk, and Digital Experience Museum. As part of the campaign valid for all children worldwide, visitors must show the QR code obtained via the Radar Istanbul app and their identification card upon museum entry.

Located in the historical peninsula of Istanbul and considered one of the world’s important cultural heritages, the Basilica Cistern, which has reached the present day, attracts great interest from local and foreign tourists with its renewed face. Restored by İBB Heritage in line with contemporary museology, the historic cistern takes its visitors on a journey through history with the events it hosts in its enchanting atmosphere.
1600-Year-Old Heritage: Şerefiye Cistern
As the oldest structure integrated with a 360-degree projection mapping system in the world, the Şerefiye Cistern offers visitors an extraordinary museum experience. The cistern, where 1600 years of history meets art and technology, welcomes visitors with a mesmerizing experience through the mapping show realized in collaboration with İBB Kültür AŞ and TUCE Investment.
A 3D Museum Experience: Panorama 1453 History Museum
Reborn digitally on the morning of May 29th, 1453, the Panorama 1453 History Museum offers a unique museum identity that can be experienced with the “Sultan Mehmed’s Dream” projection mapping show, realized in collaboration with İBB Kültür AŞ and TUCE Investment. Offering visitors a 3D museum experience, Sultan Mehmed’s Dream presents a visual feast focusing on how Mehmed II’s passion for conquering Constantinople gradually became a reality, starting from his princely years.
Where Time Stands Still: Miniaturk
From Antiquity to Rome, Byzantium, Seljuks, and Ottomans, Miniatürk brings together the rich architectural heritage of every civilization that ruled and left a mark on these lands. It also hosts the Istanbul Historical Peninsula Model Exhibition, prepared in collaboration with İBB Kültür AŞ and ModelPort, featuring models of 10,000 figures scaled down to 1/87.
Turkey’s First Comprehensive Digital Experience Museum
Opened by İBB Kültür AŞ in collaboration with TUCE Investment, the Digital Experience Museum promises visitors an experience beyond a traditional museum visit with exhibitions prepared using digital technologies and multidisciplinary approaches, pushing the boundaries of art and technology. Utilizing a wide range of technologies from virtual reality to augmented reality, touchscreen displays to AI-supported interactive applications, the museum offers visitors the opportunity to directly communicate and interact with artworks. Thanks to İBB’s innovative steps and contemporary approaches, the museum combines traditional museology with the endless possibilities of technology, taking the universal language of culture and art to a new dimension.
